Under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and Maryland privacy law, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data held by BrighterConnect.

How to Request Deletion

What Happens Next

• We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours.
• Your data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days.
• You will receive confirmation when the process is complete.

What Gets Deleted

• Your name, email, and phone number
• Saved addresses and preferences
• Push notification tokens
• Your account login credentials

What We Are Legally Required to Retain

Certain records must be retained for 7 years per Maryland PSC, FTC, IRS, and insurance regulations:

• Anonymized ride and transaction records (your name is removed)
• Payment transaction records (processed via Stripe)
• Driver background check records (drivers only)
• Legal agreement acceptance records

Retained records are anonymized — they cannot be traced back to you.

Alternative: In-App Deletion

If you are logged into the BrighterConnect app, you can delete your account directly from the app settings. This triggers the same deletion process.
